The beauty of off-grid camping is that there are so many wonderful spots to camp, beach camping in the caravan becomes and option making the most of million dollar views without the price tag of an expensive and sometimes quite busy beachfront unit or area.  Bush camping is one of our favs so many beautiful spots beside rivers, lakes etc the possibilities are endless when fully setup for off-grid camping it really does makes it easier to use the van all year round making the most of your asset.

Now days with Lithium being more affordable and more common in the industry it has opened the door for more off-grid camping – we are no longer confined to our small and sometimes squishy little caravan park sites and there are so many wonderful, spacious and beautiful camping areas being setup each week.  We like websites like Hipcamp, camplify etc they have beautiful spots available for off-grid camping in almost any location you search throughout Australia.

The trick to successful off-grid camping is to ensure you have sufficient battery and solar as well as sufficient water to get you through.  We are noticing most of the vans of recent that are built new are having some kind of off-grid system setup in them, however we are also finding that some of the batteries, solar panels and regulators that the manufacturers are using in the new builds are sometimes not up to scratch.  A Lithium upgrade system is still not a cheap exercise but the costs involved in installing the system make it worth spending the little extra on a decent system with a good warranty rather than a cheaper copy version which may only last a short time.

At Caravan Perfection we have set up so many Off-grid systems for customers using all different brands of lithium batteries.  There are so many options that the best thing to do is book a time to come and speak to the guys here to come up with the best solution for your requirements.  Options in terms of what type and how much solar you have and need, what type of regulator is required, if you wanted an inverter (to run things like a coffee machine, charge laptops or even run the air-conditioner), DC2DC chargers and AC chargers.  There is a bit to it all and its not a one size fits all type of job.   There are so many different brands out there some are cheap and nasty and others cheaper and effective in a shorter term depending on budget a solution can be put together so that everyone can get out and go off-grid camping in their caravans.  It truely does open up a completely different world of places to visit and stay in your caravan.

If you are thinking of upgrading to lithium off-grid system and are not sure where to start give us a call and we can work through some options and get you past with your van to get a quote.
